Byron had a week of work in Windhoek in November, after which we headed for the desert and mountains. Somehow both we and our 4-wheel-drive survived 800 kilometres on gravel and sand “roads”, flat tires, and often 1-2 hours without seeing another vehicle! For seven days, we were blissfully out of Internet and telephone range.

Our bungalow was the one on the left. We had sunrise views from our bed and oryx under our floor in the evenings.
