Dennis and Marjonneke

Dennis has two related professions: one as a researcher/teacher at the University of Leiden Medical School and the other as a practicing house doctor. His work as an epidemiologist has taken him for a year to Qatar, for six months to Saudi Arabia, and his commitment to general practice has led him and Marjonneke to field-level support for refugees in Greece (twice) and Slovenia. He still plays competitive tennis.

Marjonneke is a house doctor. She has worked in a immigrant area of The Hague, in a women’s prison near Leiden, and in several family practices. Somehow she balances all that with running a household, being a “tennis Mom”, and playing competitive tennis herself.
