The St. Severin Church stands on a hill in Keitum (Sylt) overlooking the Wattenmeer. The Danish king Knut the Great is said to have given money and stones to build it in around 1030 A.D.
Our wedding verse came from opera (of course). Strauss’ Arabella says: “But if there is a man who is right for me in this world, he will stand before me one day, he will look at me and I at him, and there will be no doubts and no questions.”

We had only 15 guests. From left-to-right in the last photo below. Back row: Dirk (Maren’s nephew and Brigitte’s eldest son) and Regina, Brigitte (Maren’s sister) and Uli, Dennis and Marjonneke. Middle row: Maren, Byron, Dave (Byron’s brother) and Martha, Barry and Naomi. Front row: Jil and Kim (daughters of Dirk and Regina). Missing: Tim (Dirk’s younger brother) and Sandra and their small daughter, Lina-Marie, who didn’t like organ music!
